Vintage Cartier 18k Gold Zodiac Aries Ram Pendant 1970s

A heavy vintage double sided 18k yellow gold Zodiac pendant for Aries (March 21 - April 19) showing a Ram leaping against a flame motif background and, to the reverse, a stylised astrological symbol of a Ram's head against a granular textured ground, the whole suspended on a wide flat bale - this pendant has a roman or greek coin feel to its execution which is further reinforced by the way the design appears to have been struck into an oval ingot of gold  or like a seal pressed into wax - marked to the front just above the rams head near the bale aperture with a gold standard mark and then to the back of the bale both 750 for 18k gold and for Cartier of Paris with an inventory number - there is also to the reverse in the border of the pendant on either side of the bale aperture an Atelier mark and a further gold standard mark - total weight 32.3grms - overall dimensions 42 x 28mm including bale and 34 x 28mm actual pendant size - c.1975 France
