Our Goals
Our aim with Antiques-Art-Design is to provide an interactive space, both online and face-to-face, which delivers quality services to assist our customers explore and expand their enjoyment of the objects and interiors around them. Our core values of integrity and trust enable us to provide value to our clients as we work with them to fulfill their goals.
Expertise
Behind this aim is a wealth of knowledge and a great passion for antiques, art and design that all of our staff, contractors and collaborators bring to the business.
Director – Christopher Becker
Christopher has lived in Potts Point, an inner city suburb of Sydney, Australia, for more than 20 years, arriving here after living in London and Hong Kong.
His training in Fashion Design and his international experience resulted in him designing Menswear for Morrissey and Saba for more than 8 years.
For six years of this period, he simultaneously operated a consultancy business in Illustration and Brand Design, and a small antique store in Potts Point.
He was a founding partner and Creative Director for Becker Minty. During this time, the business won numerous awards including the Harpers Bazaar Luxury Reborn Award for Innovation in Retail, and the Harpers Bazaar Ultimate Luxury Award. The womenswear business, the interior designed by Becker, received a Master Builders Award.
Since leaving Becker Minty in 2011 he has continued to pursue his passion for Antiques and Design, and has worked on various Interior Design and Brand Design projects and also collaborated with Ian Hadlow on “three rooms” in Paddington.
In 2014, his home was featured in two editions of Vogue Living, and has been interviewed for ABC radio and television, the Financial Review, GQ, ,Qantas magazine and numerous blogs.
Christopher has continued to collect Scandinavian silver, jewellery and rare objects. Antiques-Art-Design opened in July 2015 to showcase the collection. Having worked as both a designer and a stylist, he has discovered it is the backstories to these wonderful pieces, which inspires him. Christopher’s eye for understated style and elegance has fuelled his career in the worlds of fashion, jewellery and interior design.
