Sterling silver and smoky quartz disc ring - Helge Larsen and Darani Lewers 1970s

By antiques-art-design

A rare modernist design of a round tablet of clear brown smoky quartz bezel set and suspended in between two raised rectangular shoulders from a hollow rounded square sterling silver shank - what appears to be a very simple modernist kinetic design is actually created out of at least thirteen individual pieces of silver and masterfully assembled - Helge Larsen and Darani Lewers are the foremost of Australian silversmiths from the 1960's onwards and examples of their work are held in every State Gallery in Australia and in major design museums throughout Europe - marked to the inside of the shank H&DL Australia for Helge Larsen and Darani Lewers - c.1970 Australia
