Vintage Georg Jensen Rutilated Quartz Pendant Necklace Neck Ring - Torun design 169 and 133

A vintage solid silver and oval rust brown rutilated quartz pendant neck ring - Torun for Georg Jensen - a beautiful oval double sided cabochon of rutilated smoky quartz with strong rust brown rutilations wrapped with wire and suspended crossways from a hooked graduated rod and hanging from a loop on a graduated shaped neck ring - these iconic elegant and restrained forms are synonymous with Jensen and with the work of Vivianna Torun Bulow Hube, who as a jewellery designer, is considered one of the most progressive and influential designers of the 20th century. The pendant piece (which is one design of a series of interchangeable pendants featuring various stones) uses one of the most desirable minerals used in this series: rutilated quartz and this piece has particularly strong rust coloured rutile inclusions - The neck ring has a clever concealed interlocking opening and this particular design is a sinuous shaped form.
