 An Art Nouveau solid silver lidded cylindrical canister with the body divided into three sections by raised bands; the lowest section decorated with Art Nouveau designs of three flowering trees possibly cherry blossom overlapping a circular moon like motif - the middle section is plain apart from hallmarks and has a hand engraved stylised monogram of an "S" - the upper section is the lower wall of the lift off lid, the top of which is decorated with a trefoil petal design with a triangular shape and the central knob is in the form of a three petaled bud - Kate Harris is a significant figure in English Art Nouveau design - lid and base marked for Sterling silver and hallmarked with London marks for William Hutton and Sons Ltd and dated 1899 - the base is hand engraved with the retailer W.G. Connell, 83, Cheapside, London, - the side shows a registered design number 322249 - total weight 176.3grms - overall dimensions  diameter 80mm height including handle 90mm - 1899 England
