An antique 18th Century Continental porcelain etui - a lovely moulded porcelain etui decorated with finely painted harbour scenes and river views within moulded scrolling Roccoco borders picked out in pink and gold and with sprigs of flowers to the sides and garlands of flowers to the base and top mounted with gilt bronze hinged fitting which opens to reveal a plain interior. The type of fitting precludes the use of an inner plate for instruments and so this was probably for a single item perhaps for a lorngette or spectacles - unmarked - total weight 94.5grms - overall dimensions 105 x 50 x 24mm - c.1760 Europe
