A vintage Georg Jensen solid silver neck ring and rutilated quartz pendant consisting of a large lozenge shaped tablet of rutilated quartz wrapped with silver wire and suspended by a hook below a wide shaped neck ring with a front hook opening.  These iconic elegant and restrained forms are synonymous with Jensen and with the work of Vivianna Torun Bulow Hube, who as a jewellery designer, is considered one of the most progressive and influential designers of the 20th century. The pendant piece ( which is one design of a series of interchangeable pendants featuring various stones ) uses one of the most desirable minerals used in this series: rutilated quartz. The neck ring has a clever concealed interlocking opening and this particular design is a sinuous shaped form. These sometimes require additional shaping by a jeweller for them to fit the neck of the wearer correctly - this is not an a complex or expensive exercise and should able to be carried out by any competent jeweller if required. The necklace is marked with post 1945 marks for Georg Jensen of Copenhagen, also marked Torun and design number 160. The pendant is marked with the GI mark for small articles of Georg Jensen of Copenhagen and also marked Torun and design number 132.  Total weight of the set 91grms - wearable length/internal circumference approx 445mm - dimensions of the pendant total length including bale 68mm width 35mm - c.1970 Denmark
