It seems 2013 will be a very green year – and we’re not just talking environmentally. From homewares to the catwalks, designers are borrowing one of Mother Natures’ best-loved colours and giving it a modern twist.

Declared the colour of the year by Pantone, Emerald Green is popping up in clothing, accessories and even nail varnish. Pantone chose the colour because it is “Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony."

Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, all of which are more than useful in today’s complex world.
